On Tuesday, May 19th, Members of the National Collaborative for Transition Age Youth were on Capitol Hill and talking with Members of Congress about the Calls to Action in the Playbook.

While on the Hill, Collaborative Members got the news that the bipartisan bills improving support for transition age youth were going to the House floor -- meaning U.S. Representatives were going to talk about and vote on these bills. Before going to the floor, it was combined into one bill - Fostering the Future Act. Many of our LEx Leaders and state leaders were able to take part in this important moment and watch a bill that directly responds to the voices of young people move forward in the official Congressional process.

We’re celebrating this moment and working on what’s next.

Now, this bill goes to the Senate for consideration. Collaborative Members met with several Senators while on the Hill, letting them know how the bill connects to the playbook and highlighting other opportunities for change.
