How We Started

Founded in 1999 by a foster parent who saw a need in the foster care system, FosterClub was established on the principal that self-advocacy, access to information and youth involvement are keys to youth well-being in foster care.

In building a national network for foster youth, FosterClub has collaborated with state agencies, big business, individual citizens, private organizations, and (most importantly), with youth. FosterClub has become recognized as the national network for youth in foster care.

Our strong background in marketing gives us an edge when it comes to communicating with media-savvy youth. Our content is youth-driven— we actively solicit youth submissions and employ current and former foster youth. We include youth every step of the way in project development. Our experience with the foster care system gives us special insight into the challenges that foster youth face.

FosterClub’s headquarters are located in Oregon, but we can be found everywhere at www.fosterclub.com.
